Josh Ziegler

Josh Ziegler grew up in Florence, Montana. He is a teacher, professional writer, and a guide with river experience ranging from Alaska to Montana.

Josh has written for several outdoor publications such as "MeatEater'', "The Drake Magazine'', and "American Angler". He is a graduate student at Montana State University, as well as an English teacher who works seasonally as a fishing guide in Montana. He jokes that he once "shoveled water for currency" in Alaska's Bristol Bay, but that was in a past life, as he's now a husband and dad to a rad baby boy.

Great practical tips. The explanation and example of the crab row is really helpful and showing how to keep the raft on point was clear and really valuable. I recently bought a raft and I know I can put this info to use the next time I'm on the water. I'm almost ready to take on bigger and more rapid water and this info will help me start with more confidence. BTW, I've fished with Josh before, and he is truly outstanding on the sticks! His rowing makes any angler feel confident, and I hope I can do the same for anglers on my raft.
