Phil Rowley

Phil Rowley was introduced to coarse fishing in England at the age of six, and for the past 20 years he's been fly-fishing stillwaters almost exclusively. A former commercial fly tyer, Phil has written for almost every major fly fishing publication in North America. His contributions also include numerous feature articles and books, including his bestseller, "Fly Patterns For Stillwaters".

When he isn't tying flies or fishing, Phil travels western North America performing at outdoor shows, teaching seminars, speaking to fly clubs and conducting weekend fly-fishing schools. In early 2004, Phil along with good friend Brian Chan, released a signature line of fly tying materials. We are proud to work with both Phil and Brian here at Anchored Outdoors!

I really enjoyed this one, have applied many of the principles from this course and from Phil's excellent recent Stillwater book here in Australia. I've started fishing loch style competitions over the last year, and Phil's knowledge has been invaluable. There are some subtle differences in flies and techniques between the different continents it appears, but the fundamentals are the same. Thanks Phil!

Always think "how could Phil be better that the last time?" but he always makes me see some subtle thing or technique I didn't think about the way I did before. I must be a glutton as I always come back for more. Darn you Phil!

The course went into fantastic detail of fishing stillwater. I needed this course badly. It filled in a lot of questions that I've had for years. Thank you.
